In women, vaginal yeast infection and vulvitis are the most common forms of yeast infection.
Vaginitis is an inflammation of the vagina and vaginal candidiasis (vaginal yeast infection) is the most common form of vaginitis.
- An itching in the vaginal and/or vulvar area is the most common symptom.
Other symptoms include:
- Pain during intercouse
- Pain during urination
- Vaginal discharge – when it occurs, usually has a whitish, thick appearance and texture, like cottage cheese. This is not always present.
Vulvitis is the inflammation of a woman’s external genital organs – the vulva. This includes the labia, clitoris and entrance to the vagina.
- In addition to the above symptoms, vulvitis can also cause local pain.
Symptoms of a Mouth Yeast Infection are:
- white, patchy sores on the mouth that are prone to bleeding.
Other Symptoms that can occur with a Yeast Infection are:
- Sore Throat
- Bad Odor.
